S40 · S50 Engraving Series ISO 11148-7 (pneumatic grinders)

S40 / S50 Pneumatic Engraving Grinder

Precision small-tool pneumatic engraving and detail grinder for mold work, die polish and intricate finishing. Ultra-high spindle speed (20,000+ rpm) matches the small tool diameters used for engraving and inside-cavity detail. S40 standard / S50 high-power variants cover the typical mold-shop range.

03 Key Features

Built for the job site.

// 01
Ultra-high speed — fine tool linear speed
20,000+ rpm matches the small carbide-burr and stone diameters used for engraving and detail work. Tool linear speed stays in optimal Vc range despite the small diameter.
// 02
Spark-free pneumatic — safe for moulds in shop
Mould-shop fires from electric grinder sparks igniting polishing wax and solvent are a documented hazard. Pneumatic eliminates the ignition source.
// 03
Extended shaft variants (S50)
Up to 2050 mm shaft reaches inside deep mould cavities, bore-hole interiors and long pipe runs where rigid-body grinders cannot enter.
// 04
Small footprint — overhead and detail work
Under 1 kg on the lightest variants. Fatigue-free for the precision detail work that defines the engraving and mould-finish workflow.
06 FAQ

Common questions about the S40 · S50 Engraving Series.

Can't find your answer?

S40/S50 vs full S Series die grinder?
S40/S50 is the engraving-and-detail sub-range — small tool diameters, ultra-high RPM. Full S Series adds higher-power variants (up to S200 at 1.7 kW, 4,900 rpm) for heavy stock removal that engraving tools cannot handle. Mould shops typically own both — S40/S50 for finish detail, full S range for rough work.
Why does S50 need an 8 mm air hose?
Higher power consumption (12 – 18 L/s) requires the larger I.D. to maintain supply pressure under load. A 6.35 mm hose throttles the tool below rated speed. Shop air systems should plumb in larger I.D. for the S50 work-stations from the start.
