Portable Line Boring Machine (On-Site Bore Restoration)
Portable line boring system that restores worn pivot bores, stern tubes, turbine casings and pin holes in situ — without disassembly. Modular boring bar mounts in the workpiece, drive head spins it through aligned bores to original tolerance. Pairs with an automatic bore welder for a "weld-and-bore" single-setup repair.

How portable line boring restores a worn bore in place
A rigid boring bar passes through the worn bore, supported at each end by pillow-block bearings clamped to the parent workpiece. The drive head — at one end of the bar — rotates and axially feeds the bar; a cutting tool fixed on the bar removes material as it traverses. Because the bar references concentricity to its own bearings (not to the worn bore), the restored bore is round and straight even when the input geometry is worn oval and out-of-line. When paired with the optional automatic bore welder, the bar can first deposit weld metal to build the bore back up above original size, then machine it down to the H7/H8 fit in one setup — eliminating the alignment step that traditionally requires reinstalling the bar between weld and machine operations.
Built for the job site.
Where this series earns its keep.
Heavy equipment & crane repair
Restoring worn pivot bores, bucket pin holes and bushing seats on excavators, loaders, cranes and mining equipment — typical bore worn 5 – 15 mm oversize from service.
Stern-tube, rudder & engine-room bore restoration
Line boring of stern tubes, rudder pintles, engine bedplates and crankshaft alignment bores in dry-dock and afloat-repair contexts. Hydraulic (LBH) variant is the marine standard.
Turbine casing & valve seat refurbishment
CNC servo (LBS) for refurbishing steam turbine casing bores, journal bearing housings and valve seats — where bore tolerance directly controls rotor clearance and machine vibration.
